The Bernardsville Republican Municipal Committee (BRMC) held its annual screening meeting to select potential candidates for two expiring Borough Council seats. The BRMC endorsed two outstanding candidates whose names have been forwarded to the Somerset County Republican Organization for inclusion on the ballot in the upcoming June 8th Primary election.
The BRMC unanimously endorsed Jay Ambelang and Al Ribeiro for Bernardsville Borough Council in 2021.
Jay Ambelang is an “execution focused” leader with over 24 years of experience in operations and technology in the Financial Sector. Jay has been involved in volunteering with his sons’ Boy Scout troops as well as other philanthropic organizations. Jay has an MBA and a BS in Accounting.
Al Ribeiro is a solutions-focused businessman with over 18 years’ experience, primarily in the biopharma sector. He has an MBA and a BS in Political Science. Al currently serves on the Board of Health in Bernardsville and has served on Open Space Advisory Committee.
BRMC Chairman, Karen Gardner said that “Jay and Al have the knowledge and business expertise to work with Bernardsville’s Borough Council members and committees, and are committed to realistic, fiscally-sound solutions to our Borough’s challenges. They are both practical, solutions-based businessmen who will bring their private sector successes to our community.”
The Bernardsville Republican Municipal Committee is comprised of elected representatives from each of Bernardsville’s seven election districts. These Committeemen and Committeewomen promote the political philosophy of the Republican Party, assist in the election of qualified Republican candidates for public office and provide for an active Republican voice in local, county, state and federal governments.
